What’s the deal with the Genesis Framework that they’ve created for WordPress?
The framework gives you an easy way to choose options for the theme that you’ve chosen (referred to as a child theme). You can choose your default layout, such as:
- Right column, content
- Content, left column, left column
- And so forth.
First you install the framework, then you install the child theme. Both are quick and easy to install through your WordPress Dashboard under Appearance > Themes > Install Themes. Don’t forget to activate them!
