  • I make no money by recommending these plugins!

The Akismet Anti-Spam Plugin

This is used by millions. Akismet is quite possibly the best way in the world to protect your blog from comment and trackback spam. If your blog comments are full of spam it can have a lot of negative effects on your blog. First off if the spam links bag to pornography sites or virus sites Google may actual decrease your page ranking in the Search results and less people will find your blog. Also if people see your comments are full of spam vs meaningful conversations about your blog, they will assume your blog has less authority and will be less likely to visit more often.

It keeps your site protected from spam even while you sleep. To get started: 1) Click the "Activate" link to the left of this description, 2) Sign up for an Akismet API key, and 3) Go to your Akismet configuration page, and save your API key.

The Keyword Statistics Plugin Or the Platinum SEO Plugin

OK ignore the keyword statistics and either use this plugin or the Platinum SEO plugin to help create your Title Tag, And Description meta tag. Keyword Density is no longer relevant and the recent Google Panda and Penguin updates has really resulted in sites being penalized – or dropping in the search results – if they have the same keyword in the heading, title and URL and repeated thru out the page. Just write the post in English about the subject and use more synonyms for the keyword.

This is a must have plugin to drive visitors from the popular social media sites like Digg and Tumblr to your website. I pay the $10 a month for the updated version. Basically you set up a login and password to any of the about 100 (if you pay for the $10 version) social media sites and then anytime you post an article to your blog this plugin sends that article and posts it to your account at the social websites with a link back to your article. This works in two ways:

1) People se ethe article and click on it to read more and are sent to your blog – FREE traffic!

2) Google see the links back  to your blog from the social media sites and it gives you more creditability!

The SEO Booster Lite Plugin

People enter search terms into search engines. When they click on a link to your blog this plugin stores what they searched for and what page they landed on at your blog. Great post anyway! wanna see other post on your site now :)

  2. Looks good but what is the quality and pagerank of the sites you’re backlinking from? BAcklinking from spammy sites can do more harm to your website than good.

Its a mixed bag as I think you can imagine. But I think the only way you hurt yourself with backlinks is if you 1) Pay for placed links and google finds out, 2) You pay for links from a link farm and google finds out 3) you build the links unaturally fast and google figurs it out.
But for PR0 links or links from spammy sites I think google just gives them no value. Otherwise you could buy spammy links for your competitors and trash their sites.

What are is quality of your backlinks?
Like only PR2 and above, PR4 and above, etc….?
Does it spread out the amount of links that are created daily?
and does it matter if these sites you are put your back links on if they are relative to your sites concept or domain name?
    thanks

The plugin is not mine, I just paid to use it and had good results.
    Here is how it works:
    1) You pay to use the plugin and install it in wordpress.
    2) For every link you allow shown on your site you get to have a link displayed.
    3) The links are not permanent. So they only count if Google crawls the site while the link is displayed.
    4) So out of 1000 displays you might get 10 links.
    5) The links vary from pr0 – pr3. mostly pr0. But the quantity make up for the lack of high pr.
    6) You can choose the niche for the link but it is hit or miss. some related most not.
    7) No it does not drip feed links and since you don’t know what percent of links are actually created by google you have to monitor it your slef. 8) I have found that if you turn it on and have a lot of credits (links being shown for other people on an active site) you can generate TOO many links and they ar eignored or perhaps the page is penalized as it looks fake to google.
    9) I had several pages on a new site get rnaked high initially then drop off the ranking after quickly building >1000 links in a few days.
    10) So I try to limit the links by turning the plugin on and off OR by adding a lot of pages I want links built on. That way it slowly builds the links across all pages.
